As many people expected going into this weekend, round four of teh World Superbike Championship at Sugo, Japan, it's a wild-card rider at the top of the time sheets.

Fan favorite, Ben Bostrom (Ducati L&M) headed the three factory Ducati Corse riders onFriday at Sugo in seventh place as first qualifying was twice disruptedby a spate of crashes and subsequent red flags. Championship leader TroyBayliss (Ducati Infostrada) set an identical time but was one placebehind in eighth, aslast year's double winner, wild-card Tamada and Edwards (Honda) led the way...

Ben Bostrom (Ducati L&M) was aiming to improve on his time of 1:29.773but crashed in the final three minutes of qualifying, which had beenrestarted after an incident involving Pedercini.
