We've received a number of e-mails recently regarding the rumored world-wide recall of all Harley-Davidson V-Rods. So, to set the record straight, we asked a Harley-Davidson spokesperson just what was really going on, and he sent us the following reply:

The Revolution engines installed in a very small number of V-Rod motorcyclesmay have been damaged during load testing that is part of our manufacturingprocess and as a result may not deliver the performance customers expect. Aspart of our "Initial Care" assessment of V-Rod production, we determined that155 engines were affected and we have tracked every one of them. A limitednumber have been delivered to customers. The affected engines have beenidentified and will be replaced immediately by Harley-Davidson. The situationis being handled as a customer satisfaction top priority by the Motor Company.
