Today's Scott Russell Update

Scott is still in intensive care, and received more blood today and yesterday as a result of the drainage from his leg. He is heavily sedated right now because of the pain, and because his heart rate is so high.

They have called in another specialist to do some skin grafts to cover the incisions made to his leg, and evidently, the grafting has several different stages -- one of which will begin today. His leg is feeling better to the touch, as some of that pressure is relieved. They will continue to let it drain for a few more days as they get ready to do the skin grafts...

Scott's cousin Chris was able to talk to Dr. Ting's office yesterday, and hopefully Scott's Dr. will be consulting with him sometime today. They did tell Chris that his injuries are very critical because of the damage to the soft tissue as well as the bone, and the risk for infection is extremely high right now. He needs to remain in ICU as long as possible.
