The famed No. 17 bike was turning laps on Monday at Daytona International Speedway, but it wasn't AMA Superbike star and three-time Daytona 200 By Arai champion MiguelDuhamel on board. Instead, it was Miguel's father Yvon Duhamel, who is a veteran of theDaytona 200 and a five-time winner of the Canadian White Trophy.

The 61-year-old Duhamel was taking part in the first day of the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association activities at Daytona International Speedway. He finished second in the Formula 750, the final race of the day. Yvon jokingly said he wouldn't have minded riding his son's HondaRC51, which will be used by Miguel in Sunday's 60th annual Daytona 200By Arai.

"That's what I needed," said Duhamel, who was riding a 1972Harley-Davidson...

"It was OK," Duhamel said. "I was a little bit too tired. I didn'ttrain at all. The last time I raced was last year. Only one or two racesper year, that's enough for me. The bike, I did two laps this morningand a red flag came out so not enough practice."

Activities for AHRMA continue through Tuesday. On Wednesday, the AMAactivities begin with Chevy Trucks Superbike practice for the Daytona200 By Arai. Pole qualifying for the Daytona 200 By Arai is slated forThursday.
