Bostrom Faster Than GP Riders

OK, so maybe the "Bostrom and Ducati are Faster than Haga and his Yamaha" title is a bit overboard, but it is accurate -- if only theoretically.

After the first day of testing in Valencia, Spain, it was Yamaha's Noriyuki Haga who turned in the fastest lap of the day, followed by Honda's Ukawa and Rossi close behind.

So where does the Bostrom reference come in? In last week's World Superbike test at the same venue...

"Captain America" Ben Bostrom turned in a blazing lap time of 1:35.228 that was just 1/100th of a second off the outright lap record set last year by Kenny Roberts Jr. on his factory Suzuki 500 GP bike.

Very impressive, Ben, though there is still more testing to come from Valencia and the 500 GP boys. Maybe some weather and bike set-up changes will allow the GP bikes to drop their lap times, but as it stands now, Ben is da' man.
