H-D Staff Changes
Hevey and McCaslin, who both joined Harley-Davidson in 1992, will assume their new duties on March 1, 2001. Hevey has served as Vice President and General Manager Asia/Pacific and Latin America for Harley-Davidson Motor Company since 1998. Hevey received his BA and MBA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
McCaslin joined as Vice President and General Manager, York Operations. He was appointed Vice President, Continuous Improvement in 1997. In 1999, he became Vice President, Dealer Services. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from General Motors Institute and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Virginia Polytech. He also attended the Advanced Management program at Harvard University.
"John has a diverse business management background, and given hisaccomplishments in sales and marketing with the Motor Company, I believe he will provide strong leadership for the continued growth of Buell motorcycle sales. The management team of John Hevey, as President and Chief Operating Officer, and Erik Buell, as Chairman and Chief Technical Officer, will help take Buell to a whole new level of achievement," said Bleustein.
"Harley-Davidson recently celebrated its 15th year of record growth and given our plans for the future it is time to provide additional leadership and focus on operations," noted Bleustein. "I'm confident that Jim is the best choice for Chief Operating Officer as we pursue continued growth." Bleustein, 61, has been Chairman and Chief Executive of Harley-Davidson, Inc. since 1997 and President and COO of the Motor Company since 1993.
Jerry G. Wilke, 49, has been named Vice President and General ManagerAsia/Pacific and Latin America for Harley-Davidson Motor Company. Wilke previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Buell.
"Jerry has served Buell well during the past three years and his extensive experience in sales, marketing and distribution will help provide for continued growth in the Asia/Pacific Region as well as Latin America," said Bleustein.
Wilke joined Harley-Davidson in 1975 and was promoted to Vice President in 1988. He has served as President and COO of Buell since 1997. He received his BA degree from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. He also attended the Advanced Management Program at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
