Ben Bostrom (Ducati L&M) set the pace once again on the second day with atime of 1:35.228, less than 1/100th of a second away from the outright laprecord, set by Kenny Roberts Jr last year on his 500 GP Suzuki. Second quickestwas Troy Bayliss (Ducati Infostrada) in 1:35.503, while Ruben Xaus (DucatiInfostrada) confirmed his improving form with seventh quickest time of1:36.580.

"I'm really pleased with the way things went today," said a smiling BenBostrom. "I set fastest time but above all I was able to lap quickly evenwith race tires. I have to admit that I like the Valencia track a lot and Ican't wait for the 2001 championship to get underway. I feel good withmy team and the new bike is really fantastic!"

"I thought I could have done a lot better," commented Troy Bayliss. "I spenta lot of time trying to get used to the bike with the traditionalgear-change once again, but in any case I'm pleased. Two Ducatis inthe first two positions is a good result, even though I wanted to be thequicker of the two! In any case these tests were excellent preparation forthe race in March. Now I know the Valencia track really well and I feelready to begin the 2001 season in the best possible way."

"Today was also a very positive day," declared Ruben Xaus. "We had a fewsmall problems, but still managed to improve. I am really pleased to end upseventh quickest after these two days of tests and finish amongst the topriders who for sure have got more Superbike experience than I have."
