2001 World SuperSport Update: Testbike Models?

We've gotten a bunch of e-mails (and I've gotten dozens personally) asking about the testbikes we use. They're all 49-state models, as are all the bikes we test. Unless we say so otherwise, this is the default.

Further, some readers wrote in that the California version of the R6 has a lower redline, and might make less power. We weren't aware of this, and will look into it and follow up ASAP. And, to answer your next question: yes, this would alter our finishing postition for California denizens.

We'll also inquire about the differences between Cali and 49-state models for all the bikes in this test, and will try to do so going forward for all bikes. For those of you that don't live in California and think this is meaningless local banter, know that if California was it's own country, by some estimates, it would be the #5 highest-grossing country in the world for bike sales.
