Dakar Results

Italian Giovani Sala, the winner on Thursday, was second, just 51 seconds behind with South African Alfie Cox third.

Fabrizio Meoni of Italy finished seventh on the stage but still has anoverall lead of over 22 minutes over Jordi Arcarons on Spain in theoverall standings. Carlo de Gavardo of Chile remains third on a leader board dominated by KTM riders.



Saturday's 20th stage is between Tambacounda and Dakar, a total of 564 km of which 217 km will be timed.

The rally, which began in Paris on January 1, ends with a 25-km special stage in Dakar on Sunday.
