"The state of Illinois has, right now, the largest number of new motorcycle purchases and new motorcycle registration applications they've ever had in history," says Ray Minor, a trooper with the Illinois Motorcycle Enforcement Bureau. But with more people on motorcycles, there's a higher chance for accidents. Minor says 71% of those crashes happen at intersections. "The majority of those crashes actually occur when the motorist is actually violating the right of way of the motorcyclist-- making a left turn in front of the motorcyclist."Get Motorcycle.com in your Inbox
