Pascal Picotte’s manager Alan Labrosse said Monday that a deal that would see Picotte riding for Austin/Bleu Bayou Ducati is almost done. Labrosse said that Picotte is hoping to join the team at the AMA Chevy Trucks U.S. Superbike Championship doubleheader at California Speedway in Fontana on April 5-7.

“As it stands now the chances of Pascal riding at Fontana is about 75 percent,” said Labrosse. “He may not have front-line equipment at that race, but it is coming.”

Austin/Bleu Bayou is reportedly picking up the bikes Tuesday that Larry Pegram rode last year. Ironically the team is picking up the bikes from HMC Ducati in Wisconsin, the team that fired Picotte. Austin/Bleu Bayou Ducati is based in Austin, Texas.
