New Shootout: M900D Vs. ZR-7S Vs. SV650

I guess our valuebike shootout was neither nasty nor offensive. Readers seemed to like it, and for once, the feedback was, on the whole, relatively sane and postitive. So we actually read the posts, and a common thread was "where's the ZR-7 and M900D?"

We asked each manufacturer what they'd like to submit given the criteria, and took what we got. Which was nice, as it took the onus for having to think (the horror!) off of MO. Anyway, seems everyone really wants to see the Ducati M900 Dark Vs. Kawasaki ZR-7 Vs. Suzuki SV-650, so we've put requests in today to make that happen. Hopefully, we'll pick up the bikes in a month or two, so stay tuned...

In the meantime, a bunch of cool 'Net resources are linked below.

  • www.svrider.com -- An excellent, open site full of tons of SV owner's pictures, they also sell stuff, and have links off to other manufacturers' parts. Kudos to any site that does everything to promote riding (instead of just their own hardware).
  • M900D Picture at Wilson's -- Your basic manufacturer info. Couldn't find much for the Duck.
  • www.ducatiridersclub.com -- Lots of Duck stuff, including their own track day.
  • ZR Riders mailing list -- Your basic e-groups mailing list. I hate e-mail lists (and love to offer my opinion on them).
  • www.sv650.org -- Nice site, non-commercial.
  • www.zr-7.com -- An exceptional site for ZR-7 lovers.
