Carmichael Wins New Orleans SX

At the end of the evening, it was Team Honda's Ricky Carmichael who walked away with the overall win at the New Orleans Supercross making this his third win in a row and his sixth of the seven total races so far this year.

It was Team Kawasaki's Stephan Roncada in second place, followed by Yamaha's David Vuillemin and Bud Light Yamaha's Jeremy McGrath in third and fourth, respectively. Ricky C now holds a ten point lead over Vuillemin while Roncada and Ezra Lusk are tied in third on the season...

Honda Racing's Ricky Carmichael was riding in top form at theLouisiana Superdome in New Orleans winning his 3rd race in a row. He nowhas a 10 point lead in the series after winning 6 out of the last 7races.

Ricky Carmichael along with teammates Nathan Ramsey and Ernesto Fonsecamoved quickly to the front of the pack as the field of riders charged the20-lap main event. Ramsey crashed early in the race, but would pickup his CRF450R and charge back to a 6th place finish for the night. After abrief battle with Yamaha's Timmy Ferry, Ricky Carmichael took control of thelead and would hold onto 1st place all the way to the checkered flag.

Honda Racing's Ernesto Fonseca finished the main event in a respectable9th place finish after crashing on the 4th lap.

"It's great racing with the best riders in the world." said Fonseca."I've won 125cc titles but it's a whole different ball game when you go upagainst the big guys out here. I have total respect for just how fastthe leaders are able to go."

Red Rider Sebastien Tortelli bruised his back in practice and decided notto race the night program. Tortelli should return for round 11 in Houstonnext week.

Amsoil / Dr. Marten / Journeys / Honda Racing's Mike LaRocco is stillrecovering from a broken right wrist he sustained in Minneapolis. LaRoccois undergoing a strong rehabilitation program to get his wrist back to100%. LaRocco's teammate Michael Byrne is still mending from his crash atthe Indianapolis Supercross.

Blackfoot Honda's Heath Voss again cracked the 250cc main event top 10 witha 7th place finish. Voss is gaining more confidence as the seasonprogresses, and is currently sitting in 10th place overall in the series.
