From Ducati:

Cupertino, CA (December 20, 2006) - Ducati North America and Pegram Racing jointly announce the formation of a racing team for the 2007 AMA Lockhart Phillips USA Formula Xtreme Series.

Pegram Racing Ducati will field popular AMA racer Larry Pegram, who will be onboard Ducati Corse built 749R motorcycles. The team will be supported by Ducati North America and will receive technical assistance from Ducati Corse, while being based out of Pegram Racing’s Ohio shop.

“Our decision to withdraw from the AMA Superbike paddock in 2007 was a very difficult one for us. Larry approached us this fall and offered a program and team infrastructure that allowed us to stay involved and keep racing for the 2007 season” said Michael Lock, CEO of Ducati North America. “Racing is in our blood, and we want to see a Ducati on the AMA grid. By supporting Pegram Racing, we can accomplish this goal. “

“I am excited to be back on a Ducati this year, as I have had some of my best racing finishes aboard a Ducati,” said Larry Pegram. “I want to thank both Paolo Ciabatti and Michael Lock for helping me put this together, and I am looking forward to the Daytona 200.”

The team will compete on Dunlop tires and has already taken delivery of the motorcycles. The first track test is scheduled for January and the season begins March 10 with the Daytona 200.
