KLR650, Should I Get One?

I have a '82 Honda CB450T Hawk. It is a nice commuter bike and all but after riding it almost every day for the last three months I think I am ready for a change. Don't get me wrong, I love this bike but I am a little dissapointed with its acceleration. I am not interested in high speed tools, but I do like to have a bike that will get me up to the posted speed limits at a grin inducing pace. From the beginning I had my heart set on the Kawasaki KLR 650, but I got the Honda as a learning tool. Is the KLR fast (as in getting up to the speed limits) or would I be disspointed by its acceleration? Are there other Dual Purpose or SuperMoto's I should be looking at? Just to give you a idea of what I am usually used to, I have Camaro Z28 that can get to 60 mph in about 5.5 seconds. The KLR or the new bike would certainly have to beat that.
