From a tiny acorn the mightiest oak grows.
The Honda Cub was the motor vehicle that introduced the name Honda to America.
Before the 50cc scooter debuted in the United States, motorcycling had a very unsavory reputation (think: Marlon Brando in The Wild One).
Suddenly with the introduction of the Honda Cub and its legendary marketing motto, "You Meet the Nicest People on a Honda," the motorcycle industry was revolutionized, and Honda began a slow climb from being a maker of tiny scooters to being one of the most successful automakers in the world.
(In a testament to Honda's engineering prowess, in 2006, every car running in the Indianapolis 500 was powered by Honda. There was not a single engine failure or malfunction during the race.)
Honda still builds and sells the Honda Cub in Asia. Over 50 million have been sold throughout the world.
This video is a lighthearted tribute to the Little Engine that Could:
The Best Motorcycle Ever.
Enjoy.
