Scooters get between 60 and 80 mpg. Here's the ticket: keep a little scooter tucked over in the corner of the garage with the weed whacker and use it for your daily commute, saving that gas-guzzling 40-mpg motorcycle for the weekend. On Monday morning, put on your three-piece suit, hop on the Vespa, and pretend you're Tommy Kirk in a rollicking early-60s Disney movie. Who knows, wackiness may ensue! (Even if it doesn't, you'll still get 60 to 80 mpg.)
