Suzuki to Open ATV Plant

Suzuki Motor Corp. has plans to open a an ATV factory in Georgia by the year 2002 in an effort to help reduce shipping costs and meet the growing demand for four-wheel motorbikes.

The plant will have the capacity to make 40,000 ATVs a year, and the company's initial target is to produce 25,000 units in the first year of operation.

The new plant will cost about $40 million to build and will be used as the base for exporting ATVs to Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
