Tom Kipp Signs With Team Hammer

One time British Superbike runner Tom Kipp has recently signed a deal torace in the AMA Formula Xtreme and 600cc Supersport series in the UnitedStates for the Valvolene EMGO Suzuki Team.

The 32 year old American from Chardon, Ohio will join the Team HammerInc. squad for the opening round at Daytona in March aboard a brand newGSXR1000 and GSXR600 to be fettled by Crew Chief Keith Perry, withassistance from mechanics Mike Canfield and Todd Fenton...

Four times AMA Supersport champion, Kipp raced as replacement for JamesToseland in the Demon Vimto Honda team aboard a kitted SP-1 Honda twoseasons ago, when the Yorkshire youngster broke his leg in a testingaccident at Cadwell half way through the season. Out of the ten races Tomcontested, his best result was 8th place on his debut at a rain-lashedKnockhill.

The only rider competing in the domestic championship with a worldsuperbike win when he took victory in Canada some ten years ago, Kipp - adevoted Christian - acted as substitute rider for a rival team lastseason in FX winning on home ground at Mid-Ohio and finishing runner upat Pikes Peak.

Prior to his sortie to the UK after a call from team owner Paul Bird,Kipp won the 1999 AMA 750cc Supersport Championship to add to his 1994and 1995 successes in that class as well as the 600cc Supersport title in1992. He also finished third in the 1996 AMA Superbike Series.
