‘Kings of Speed’ To Showcase Some of the World’s Rarest Motorcycles At PortolaPlaza July 20-22

MONTEREY, CA – Some of the international motorcycling world’s rarest and mostvaluable performance machines will assemble under one roof on July 20-22, asRobb Report MotorCycling magazine presents their first-ever “Concoursd’Elegance” at MotoGP.

Taking place at the Portola Plaza Hotel, the event will be highlighted by thedisplay of approximately 120 museum-quality machines, including many rare andone-of-a-kind models.

To be held during the MotoGP World Championship weekend at nearby Mazda Racewayat Laguna Seca, the Robb Report MotorCycling Concours d’Elegance is one in aseries of signature Robb Report events held in exclusive locations such asNaples, Florida; New York; Los Angeles; Phoenix, Arizona; and Monaco.

Concours d’Elegance will be highlighted by rare collection of more than 100unique sport and racing bikes, including some of the world’s most treasuredvintage and modern motorcycles. Representing milestones from many eras, thecollection will highlight the technology and celebrate the passion for thesport, with a showcase of machines that changed the definition of “performance”through the years.

Highlights will include a one-of-a-kind display of eight historic Vincent BlackLightning racing bikes, including the Burns and Wright model that established an international top-speedrecord in New Zealand in the 1950s. This collection-one fourth of all the Blacklightning bikes produced more than a half-century ago--will also include theJohn Edgar Lightning which Rollie Free rode, wearing only swimming trunks to atop-speed of 150 mph, setting an American record in 1948, as well as the RegDearden model, the only factory-supercharged Lightning ever built. The displayof Black Lightnings is one of the largest gatherings of its kind.

Also on display will be the 1982 World Championship Suzuki RG500, ridden byVirginio Ferrari; a Matchless G50; Norton Manx 30M; Honda CR110 50cc factoryracer; MV Agusta GP Racer; Laverda Jota; Bimota Supermono; Benelli Sei; and acompletely original Honda CB750.

The Robb Report MotorCycling Concours d’Elegance will also feature displays fromsome of the most prominent businesses in the motorcycling industry and theinternational luxury world.
