Benelli Signs Contract With Matilde Tomagnini

Benelli signed a three-year contract with Matilde Tomagnini, making her responsible for the organization of all racing activities that the company will take part in for the 2001 season.

"Being responsible for the Benelli sports revival represents a very exacting challenge," said Tomagnini. "I am willing to undertake any possible effort to contribute to upturn the most famous brand I have ever met in my agonistic career."

For more than 12 years, Matilde Tomagnini has competed in motorcycle competitions at the highest levels. Her accomplishments have included winning two absolutewins in the Paris-Dakar, four individual titles in the MotocrossWorld Championship, and five individual titles in the Race World Championship.

"Today, the second part of the challenge starts," said Andrea Merloni, president of Benelli, "which is expected to bring back our brand to the top of the podium as soon as possible."
