Randakk’s Cycle Shakk to Host International Rally in Mt. Airy, NC

Chapel Hill, NC, May 5, 2006 – Randall Washington, better known as “Randakk” to vintage motorcycle owners worldwide searching for carburetor parts and other restoration resources on the Internet, is hosting a Customer Appreciation International Honda GL1000 Rally June 10-11, 2006, in Mt. Airy, North Carolina. This promises to be one of the largest gatherings of vintage Honda GL1000s in quite some time.

Washington is the Proprietor of Randakk’s Cycle Shakk based in Chapel Hill, NC. He bills this as a “low-key,” two-day event targeting Randakk Cycle Shakk customers. Honda GL1000 owners from the US, Canada and Europe have registered to attend.

A preliminary schedule of events includes a tuning clinic, informal local rides, new product announcements, an informal bike show with “People’s Choice” trophy, plus small prizes based on serial numbers, odometer readings, distance traveled, rider’s age, etc.

A banquet planned for Saturday June 10th will feature Ron Ayres as guest speaker. Ron Ayres is the founder and owner of Ayres Adventures, which specializes in motorcycle tours to South America, Africa, Europe, New Zealand and beyond.

A legend in BMW circles, Ayres is also famous for his exploits as a long distance, endurance rider. He's written three definitive books on the subject. A few years back, Ayres set the Iron Butt Association record for traveling through all 49 states in only 7 days! This feat was chronicled in the best selling book Against the Clock.

“I want real running bikes to attend, not ‘trailer queens,’” says Randakk. “You have plenty of time to finish your restorations and rejuvenations, so get busy!”
