A New Zealand electronics engineer has come up with a $100,000 two-seat sportscar that will out-accelerate the Ferrari F430 and Porsche Carrera GT. And it runs on batteries.

Using state-of-the-art electronics to maximize performance, Ian Wright has built a lightweight, Lotus 7-like electric roadster that will go 100 miles -- an hour of flat-out fun or a couple of hours of enjoyable corner carving -- on a 4.5-hour charge.

Ferrari Killer?

And he parked it in front of Alice's Restaurant of all places. Nice.--Pete
