Comfort. Performance. Handling. Balancing these things is a constant struggle in the lives of motorcyclists, judging by your feedback in our fora and the billions of dollars of aftermarket add-ons sold every year.

One approach to the problem is to make a comfortable bike perform better, or modify a performance bike so it will be more comfortable for long trips. However, the results are always less than ideal, often resulting in a compromise in either performance, comfort, or handling.

One intrepid MOridian, Jeremiah Knupp, decided to take a different approach. Rather than modify the bike, why not modify your state of mind and expectations about what comfort and performance mean? If we cannot bring Mohamed to the mountain, we will bring the mountain of riding a Ducati 748 to Daytona Beach to Mohamed. Does it work?
