Motorcycle Parts at ACE Hardware?

It's highly unlikely, but you might just see motorcycle/scooter parts creeping into the newly announced ACE Hardware stores set to be built in Japan -- the American hardware juggernaut has announced that they've chosen Sunstar Engineering to be their partner in rolling out ACE stores throughout Japan.

That's the Sunstar Engineering, you know, the ones that make motorcycle sprockets, brake pads and adhesives for cars. A privately-held company, we had no idea they were of the size or caliber to be able to launch a country-wide chain of stores. While it seems unlikely that you'll see more than a cursory selection of bike parts, they haven't specifically said that you won't.

Anyway, how cool would it be to walk into a service- and customer-oriented chain store like ACE and order up parts for your scoot? One of the largest consumer complaints MO receives is about dealers that don't seem interested in actually selling product(s), and/or aren't very nice whilst being disinterested...

I can see it now -- walk down to the local ACE, pick up some tinfoil, two-stroke lawnmower oil, superglue, some new sprockets and a chain, and I'm all ready to start restoring that pile of Kawasaki H2Rs that're clogging up my garage. It'll be glorious!
