A Sportbike Tyre for the Street?

I am running a 2001 955i speedtriple and am looking for a sportbike tyre that isn't going to be done in 3,000 miles.
I am also in Seattle so I am looking for something that is at least somewhat safe in the rain. The bike is used on the street and for the occasional sport-tour - no track work.
Michelin Pilot Roads maybe? Touring too?
Any clues?
