Open Sportbike Reader Feedback

It's here, so stop bugging us, OK? Sheesh!

Have you read the Openbike Shootout yet? Have you seen the video/multimedia page with movies and read the rider impressions from such notables as Roland Sands and Nigel Gale? Why are you still here? Go there now!

After sampling all four bikes on the street in "real-world" conditions, we took Honda's CBR929RR, Yamaha's YZF-R1, Kawasaki's ZX-9R and Suzuki's GSX-R750 to Willow Springs Raceway as well as Los Angeles County Raceway to find out which manufacturer put the right ingredients into their Open Class bike.

In the 600 shootout we weighed the Street portion of the test heavier than we did in this Openbike Shootout since quite a few beginners make 600 cc purchases. Nobody in their right mind would purchase an open class steed as a first bike so this test was more heavily weighted towards outright performance than how well a bike handles gridlocked traffic and city streets.

Let us (and the manufacturers) know what you think of their bikes. Keep it clean. Keep it neat, be nice and, Have Fun!
