Robot cars aim to kick up dust
University, industry teams race to build fastest driverless vehicle on wheels.
The demonstration nearly ended before it began. Ghostrider, the robotic motorcycle built by a team of UC Berkeley engineers, had careened off course and splashed into a pond, short-circuiting the electronics that were its surrogate brain.
“We're showing that we can do a motorcycle almost to prove to everyone that we can make it 100-fold more complicated but still be able to achieve the same results.”

The above quote sounds like the mantra of many cyclists MO knows. Hmmm...Oct. 8th isn't too far off. Maybe we can get EBass to come back and ghostride a cruiser or something. It's sure to go at least as far as a robot.
