Opinions on Do It Alls

I'm another guy with an itch for something new. Started with a Honda Shadow Spirit 750 3 years ago; got a Harley Sportster 1200r last year for more power. After a recent trip from Chicago to Little Rock and back, I realized its not quite what i want. Looking to go more sporty but would like to log some miles on the highway as well (aka 130 miles/tank ain't doing it). lookin at Yamaha FZR600, Suzuki SV 650 and recent Aprilia Futura.
1) Any practical experience b/n these bikes?
2) Any other suggestions
3) Would the Futura be too much bike seeing that i'm coming off a cruiser?
