Malibu, CA (Oct. 13, 2000) -- The premier freestyle motocross tour in the world headlines an unprecedented Halloween weekend of extreme screams at Seaside Park in Ventura, CA on Saturday October 28 and Sunday, October 29, 2000. The best moto-x riders join top pro skateboarders and bmx riders, plus bands like the Wu Tang clan (original members) and NOFX, topped off with a Hollywood-style heart-stopping haunted house, all coming together to create a two day festival of ferocious fun and fear and mayhem unlike anything ever seen before.

The centerpiece of the thrill-filled weekend is TheEdgeSports.com FreeRide Moto-X Championships, presented by DC Shoes along with THQ and Uni Filter. The first stop of the 2000-01 tour, The FreeRide will feature riders including Carey Hart, Brian Deegan, Tommy Clowers and Mike Cinqmars, all vying with a field of 20 other riders for precious WFA points as they try and qualify for next year's ESPN X Games and a share of the $30,000 purse.

Performing BMX and skate demos (street & vert) will be X Games medallists Bucky Lasek, Bob Burnquist, Colin McKay, Dave Mirra and Ryan Nyquist.

The FreeRide Championships takes place over both weekend afternoons, along with pro skate and bmx demos.

Gates open at noon while FreeRide Moto-x competition starts at 1 PM. NOFX headlines the music portion on Saturday night, Oct. 28th and Wu-Tan Clan on Sunday night, Oct. 29th,with numerous local bands every night. Seaside Park is at the Ventura County Fairgrounds at 10 W. Harbor Blvd., Ventura, CA immediately adjacent to the famed "CStreet" surf spot.
