Excelsior-Henderson Relaunch Delayed

By Brent Plummer, Oct. 17, 2000
Though rescued from Chapter 11, cruiser enthusiasts may have to wait awhile before they can purchase a new Excelsior-Henderson motorcycle.

E.H. Partners, Inc., who purchased the brand last month, had hoped to organize a successful launch for the 2001 riding season. Company officials, however, said an in-depth assessment of the business indicated a significant reorganization process needed to first take place.

2001, therefore, will be spent re-staffing, reestablishing a dealer network, fine-tuning the design of current E-H models and developing new models.

Planning a 2002 product launch, company officials believe the outcome will be worth the extra time and effort.

"At the appropriate time, Excelsior-Henderson will return to the market with the very best heavyweight motorcycle technology, backed by a complete and well-financed marketing plan," Excelsior-Henderson spokesperson Joel Norenberg said.
