Irwindale AMA Red Bull Supermoto Championship Event to support Local Fire Relief efforts

PICKERINGTON, Ohio (Oct. 31, 2003) -- Fans attending the AMA Red Bull Supermoto Championship event at Irwindale (Calif.) Speedway this Saturday night will have the opportunity to support local fire relief charities. The event promoter, Trittler Entertainment, supported by AMA Pro Racing and series and event sponsors, is organizing a charity raffle to be held at the event with all proceeds going to the Red Cross Southern California Wildfire Disaster Relief Fund.

Numerous wildfires have burned thousands of acres in Southern California and had forced organizers to consider postponing the event. After intensive discussions, the promoter, the track and AMA Pro Racing jointly decided to proceed with the race as planned. "When we ultimately decided to go forward with the race we unanimously agreed to add a charity element," said promoter Shane Trittler. "These fires have been so bad for so many in Southern California that we decided we would use our event to help out in any way we could. This is literally coming together as we speak, but so far virtually every company associated with the event has contributed. Plus, even though he can't race because he's recovering from knee surgery, Travis Pastrana will be on hand at the race to lend his support for the relief efforts and will be donating some of his gear to the raffle."

Support continues to be pledged but so far donations include the following:
* Honda, the event title sponsor, has provided an XR50 mini-bike.
* Honda's parts and accessories division will donate Honda accessories and has arranged for donations from Freddie Spencer's High Performance Riding School, Chris Haines' Baja Adventure Tours and Danny Walker's American
Supercamp.
* Series sponsors FMF and Dunlop have each agreed to donate product.
* Supermoto Unlimited class sponsor KTM has donated a selection of accessories and apparel.
* Red Bull has donated a Red Bull Experience in Southern California with the winner getting to choose between a half-day of off-road riding in the Red Bull Pro Truck with SCORE Pro Truck Champion and Baja 1000 winner Steve Barlow; or flying with stunt man and pilot, Troy Hartman, to experience the thrills of aerobatic aviation or a tandem skydive with current World Sky Dive Champion and Red Bull Air Force member, Jon Devore.
* Event sponsor DW Drums has donated a PDP drum set.
* AMA Pro Racing is donating the ability for one fan to become an AMA Pro Racing Official for a Day at a select 2004 AMA Pro Racing event. The winner will accompany AMA Pro Racing operations staff during race day, outfitted in appropriate officials gear which the fan can keep, and see first hand the ins and outs of race control. As part of the experience, the honorary official of the day will get to meet the rider of his or her choice.

Additional donations are expected so fans attending the event should check when they arrive for the latest list of items being raffled.

"Seeing all of these companies generously step up with donations has been gratifying for us," said Trittler. "It validates that we made the right call by moving forward. Plus, we feel good knowing that our efforts will help victims of the wildfires."
