Another motorcycling legend has passed, sad news indeed. Legendary father of the "steel shoe" Ken Maely has passed away, following an apparent heart attack in Riverside, CA. Maely is credited with designing and building the first steel shoes worn by dirt track and speedway racers. A Prominent figure in both Dirt Track and Speedway motorcycle racing, Maely has remained a friend to the sport, most recently by owning and operating "Maely's Ranch", a dirt track / speedway training facility in Corona, CA. Maely was 78 years old. Funeral arrangements are still being finalized.
