Las Vegas BikeFest event features racing clinics and demo rides for female riders
By Motorcycle.com Staff, Oct. 03, 2008
Femmoto 2008 will be peppered with motorcycle racers and performers this weekend.

Scheduled to visit Femmoto, the female-friends track demo day at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend, will be motorcycle racers from several disciplines including AMA National Roadracing, NHRA Drag Racing, and a land speed racer with a new record on the Bonneville Salt Flats. Also appearing will be a female stunt rider putting on a lunch-time demo, as well as 12 manufacturers offering track and street demos. For 2008, street demo rides are open to men as well - but the track surface remains dedicated to female enthusiasts.

Femmoto began in 2001 as a women only track day, but has quickly evolved into much more. Today Femmoto is an organization that looks to fill the void for women motorcycle riders who are looking not only to improve their riding skills with on-track instruction, but who want information on services and products.

Scheduled to visit Femmoto this year are Karen Stoffer, an NHRA drag racer who will host seminars about the world of split-second reaction times, Jessica Zalusky, the AMA Supersport and Formula Extreme competitor who will host seminars on getting into road racing, Jessica Maine, the female stunt rider and motorcycling personality will provide a little lunch-time entertainment in the form of a stunt demo on the main straight of the track. Larry Pegram will be providing a limited number of two-up track rides for female participants signed up for track demos and land speed racer Leslie Porterfield, who recently became the worlds fastest woman on two wheels with a Bonneville Speed Week run of 209 miles per hour, will be making an appearance.

With twelve brands of motorcycles offering street and track demos, Femmoto has grown into the largest female-friendly motorcycle demo event in North America. The 2008 event happens to fall on the same weekend as the Las Vegas Bike Fest, making "The Entertainment Capitol Of The World" a much more entertaining place for motorcycle enthusiasts of all types.
