By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Jul. 16, 2010
The International Motorcycling Federation has released the entry list for the July 25 Laguna Seca round of the e-Power electric racing series.

The Laguna Seca round will feature 12 entries, which will be larger than the grids of the series first two races combined. The five entries that competed in both the April 16 race at Le Mans in France and the May 22 race at Albacete in Spain will be in Monterey, Calif., to race in the Laguna Seca round. They will be joined by seven new teams.

With 2004 AMA Superstock Aaron Gobert chosen to ride the race-spec Empulse RR at Laguna Seca, Brammo shows it is in it to win it.

Brammo is expected to draw some attention with the race-spec version of its newly unveiled Empulse streetfighter. Former AMA Superstock champion Aaron Gobert will pilot Brammos Empulse RR entry.

Michael Czysz will race on his companys MotoCzysz E1pc. With a claimed top speed of 140 mph, the E1pc won the TT Zero in the 2010 Isle of Man TT, falling just short of the 100 mph lap bounty.

Michael Czysz will ride the TT Zero-winning MotoCzysz E1pc in the e-Power race at Laguna Seca.

Zero Motorcycles will back K Squared Racing and its rider, Kenyon Kluge, the companys director of engineering. Kluge, who finished fifth in the TTXGPs first North American race at Infineon Raceway, will ride a modified Zero S.

Chip Yates of Pro Racing and Mike Hannas of ElectricRaceBikes are two more TTXGP teams that will take part at Laguna Seca. Zoe Rem, who became the first female racer to reach a TTXGP podium with a second-place finish at Road America, will also race at Laguna Seca. Rems podium came while riding for Agni, but this time she will return to Pril Motors, her team at Infineon Raceway, riding a modified Kawasaki motorcycle.

Ely Schless of Oregons Barefoot Motors will race for Pro Moto Racing.

Firefighter Thomas Betti currently leads the e-Power Championship standings after winning in Le Mans and finishing second in Albacete. Hell be joined by his father, Luciano Betti, who finished third in Spain.

Thomas Betti (115) leads the FIM e-Power Championship.

American Reiner Kopp of Munch Racing is currently second in the standings, but he will not ride for the team at Laguna Seca. Hell be replaced by Matthias Himmelmann.

Christian Amendt of is third in the series standings, but the team may not be able to travel to California after the company providing its travel arrangements declared bankruptcy.

Albacete race winner Thijs De Ridder rounds out the European entries.

The Laguna Seca round of the FIM e-Power Championship will take place July 25 as part of the U.S. Grand Prix.
