Custom chopper builder Jesse James will put his life on the line in a new television series set to premiere on Spike TV in February, 2009.

The star of the Discovery Channel’s Motorcycle Mania and Monster Garage, James will move out of the garage and take on the role of a daredevil in Jesse James is a Dead Man.

In each episode of the new series, James will face a different challenge from racing in the infamous Baja 500 off-road race to reaching speeds over 200 mph on a motorcycle supercharged by an ultra-combustible nitro-methane fuel. The series will show the preparations behind each stunt while CGI effects will display the physiological stress each challenge will present to James’ body.

West Coast Choppers' Jesse James will add another television series to his resume.
“Our goal was to create a new and distinctive series for Jesse that is unlike anything else on television,” says Sharon Levy, senior vice president of original series for Spike TV. “In this series, viewers will get to experience one of the most fearless guys on the planet in an entirely new way, taking on death-defying physical challenges each week.”

Ten one-hour episodes of Jesse James is a Dead Man will be produced by BASE productions and James’ own production company, Payupsucker Productions. The weekly series is James’ first project with Spike TV after signing a multi-year talent deal with the cable network in October 2007.
