Husqvarna has been named Marque of the Year of the 2010 AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days.

A brand that dominated AMA off-road racing in the 70s and 80s, Husqvarna will be featured at the 19th annual AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, July 9-11 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.

Husqvarna Motorcycles is delighted to be the AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days Marque of the Year for 2010,says Mark Brady, president of Husqvarna Motorcycles North America. Launching the new decade with this prestigious recognition is indeed an honor. Everyone at Husqvarna Motorcycles is very much aware of the great history of the brand, and we are determined to bring back the glory days.

Husqvarna sales were up in 2009 on models such as the TXC250.

A part of that revival is Husqvarnas return to AMA National Enduro racing after a 20-year absence.

Arguably the most dominant off-road racing brand in the United States for a generation of racers, Husqvarna has recently returned full force to AMA Racing national competition, says Tigra Tsujikawa, AMA special events and marketing manager. Were pleased to showcase both Husqvarnas history and the companys renewed investment in motorcyclings present and future at this years AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days.

At AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, visitors can learn about Husqvarnas history from its start in Sweden in the early 1900s to the latest 2010 off-road and dual-sport models.

Husqvarna had a good 2009, reporting a 9% increase in sales compared to 2009 in the U.S.

Our sales accelerated through the end of the year, increasing 98% for the last two months of the year! says Brady. This is a true testament to both our dedicated dealers and great new products, such as the 250cc model range.
