EICMA 2010: Husqvarna Mille 3 Concept

While BMW announced its entry to the maxi-scooter segment with a new concept model, that wasn’t the most surprising concept to come from the company.

No, that honor goes to BMW’s subsidiary Husqvarna which displayed a 993cc cruiser concept called the Mille 3.

The Mille 3 uses an engine constructed from three single-cylinder Husqvarna dirt bike engines sharing a common crankcase.

The styling is pure Husqvarna, taking elements from the Swedish manufacturer’s dirt bikes and supermotards. The low-slung chassis, long wheelbase and chubby tires however are a vast departure for a company with a long history in producing off-road motorcycles.

The Husqvarna Mille 3 is just a design concept however, and there are no plans for a production version, unlike BMW’s Concept C scooter which is a prelude to at least two new scooter models.
