The 2011 CB1000R was among the new models introduced at Honda’s EICMA presentation, and American Honda has announced it will be available in the U.S. in Spring 2011. Motorcycle.com reviewed the 2010 CB1000R in March, and the naked literbike is essentially unchanged for 2011 save for some styling updates and a new thicker aluminum handlebar.

“Last week we introduced the all-new entry-level CBR250R and we’re just as excited about this addition to Honda’s lineup for 2011,” says Bill Savino, Honda Powersports press manager. “The CB1000R fills a great position in today’s market as we now bring a very capable sport machine packed with high-performance features to riders who focus on street use – wherever and whatever their destination may be. Whether it’s a quick trip down a favorite backroad, a weeklong ride through a few states, or anything in between, the CB1000R is versatile enough to do it all.”

The CB1000R is powered by a 998cc fuel-injected inline-four Honda says has been re-tuned for low-end and mid-range power. Honda hasn’t released any performance figures but the 2010 model in our review claims 123hp at 10000rpm and 73 ft-lb. at 7750rpm.

Up front, the CB1000R uses a fully adjustable 43mm upside down fork while the rear offers adjustable preload and rebound damping. Braking is supplied by dual radial-mounted four-piston calipers with 310mm discs up front and a single 256mm disc at the rear. Honda offers an ABS-equipped version for Europe but that does not seem to be the case for the American market however.

The fuel tank holds 4.5 gallons including a one gallon reserve. American Honda has not released a weight estimate but the European-spec version (pictured) claims a curb weight of 478 pounds.

The Honda CB1000R will be available in the U.S. in Pearl Black while Europeans will be offered a Pearl White version as well as a Tricolor version.
