Ducati unveiled its 2010 lineup at EICMA 2009 in Milan, Italy, including the new Multistrada 1200.

The new Multistrada 1200 provides Ducati with an important opportunity to penetrate what is, for us, a completely new market segment, with a totally innovative concept, in terms of performance, usability and technological content, says Claudio Domenicali, Ducati general manager. Four bikes in one, with four different riding modes, traction control and electronic suspension but, most importantly, a true Ducati, in its style, design and advanced technology, derived directly from Ducatis racing experience on tracks across the world.

Powered by a Testastretta 11-degree engine based on the one used in the 1198, the Multistrada 1200 is being marketed as a combination supersport, a tourer, a daily commuter and an off-road enduro. As reported by Kevin Duke, the Multistrada will have four different riding modes.

Well have a better idea of how well it fits each of those four roles when we get our hands on it.

Ducati also introduced a new logo for its racing programs. The new Ducati Corse logo follows a similar evolution to the companys log unveiled at EICMA 2008 with the same swooping white stripe. The old circular log is gone while Italian green, white and red bars are featured under the word Corse.

To mark the launch of the new logo, Ducati is releasing special edition Corse versions of the 1198S and 1198R. Both models feature the factory team-style aluminum fuel tanks, Ducati Traction Control and new livery matching the updated logo.

Ducati also presented the new Hypermotard 796 at EICMA alongside an updated Hypermotard 1100EVO and the never-before-seen Hypermotard 1100EVO SP. According to Ducati, the 1100EVO is 15.5 lb lighter while gaining 5hp. Ducati didnt provide details about the SP version, except to say it pushes the Hypermotards limits even further.

Rounding out Ducatis EICMA presentation are ABS-equipped versions of the Ducati Monster 696 and 1100 (both basic and S models). The 2010 Monster lineup also gets new, longer exhaust guards. Ducati says the 696 version will be 2.6 lb lighter and will have improved four-point adjustable clutch and brake levers.
