DiSalvo to Enter Indy Moto2 Race

Another American gets wildcard entry
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Aug. 19, 2010
Jason DiSalvo had drawn a wildcard entry in the Moto2 race at the Indianapolis Grand Prix.

The Strafford, N.Y., resident will ride an FTR M210 prepped by the GP Tech Moto2 race team. Former racer Geoff Maloney will manage the wildcard effort.

Its amazing what Geoff Maloney and the GP Tech team have accomplished in getting everything prepared in such little time, as the help from various people and organizations around the U.S. has been tremendous, says DiSalvo. Im excited about being on Indy for the first time and hope to get up to speed fast on the FTR chassis and have a good result come Race Day.

DiSalvo started the year racing for the Triumph factory team in the World Supersport Championship but left the team acrimoniously in June, citing a lack of resources. Since then, he has been racing in WERA.

Jason DiSalvo will make his return to the global racing scene at the Indianapolis Moto2 race. He has been racing in the U.S. since leaving the Triumph World Supersport team.

DiSalvo is the second American rider to get a wildcard entry to the Moto2 race at the Indianapolis Grand Prix, Aug. 27-29. Roger Lee Hayden will race for an American Honda team managed by Kevin Schwantz. Spanish-born American Kenny Noyes, son of American racer and journalist Dennis Noyes, is a regular racer in the series, currently sitting 20th in the standings for actor Antonio Banderas Jack & Jones team.
