Buell 1125R Rolling Off Assembly Lines
The 1125R joins the XB and Blast as a third Buell motorcycle platform. The Buell 1125R Helicon engine is a new Rotax-designed 1125cc DOHC V-Twin, the first liquid-cooled engine to power a street-legal Buell motorcycle. Motorcycle.com reported on the first ride on this historic Buell in August of this year, noting that the bike had copious amount of linear torque, great stability in handling and lots of character. But the pre-production units tested at that time weren't without some nagging flaws. Most noticeable was the surging fueling and rather firm fork spring.
According to Paul James, Director of Product Communications these issues and others have been resolved on the production models.
The first 1125R motorcycles are expected to arrive at U.S. Buell dealers in November. The serial number one Buell 1125R will become part of Buells history, saved for the Harley-Davidson Museum, which opens in 2008.
