Brembo Announces Suzuki Partnership

M4x32 caliper developed for GSX-R600, GSX-R750

Brembo announced it has reached a three-year agreement to supply brake calipers for Suzuki.

When Suzuki unveiled its 2011 GSX-R supersports, one of the notable updates was the use of Brembo monobloc calipers. As Kevin Duke reported from the launch of the 2011 Suzuki GSX-R600 and GSX-R750, both new models were equipped with Brembo brakes as OEM components, a rarity for a Japanese manufacturer.

Brembo developed an all new caliper for the 2011 Suzuki sportbikes. Dubbed the M4x32, the four-piston 32mm monobloc calipers is based on technology Brembo provides for MotoGP and World Superbike racing.

Brembo will supply parts for Suzuki in a new three-year agreement.

At the moment, only the 600 and 750 come standard with Brembos, but the next generation GSX-R1000 will likely be equipped with them as well.
