BMW Recalls for F650GS, K-Series models
BMW issued a recall on K-series motorcycles from model years 2004-2010 due to a problem with the rear wheel linkage. The bearings of the link lever attached to the rear strut may become corroded under certain environmental conditions. Corroded bearings may restrict the movement of the link lever, affecting the bikes handling.
The recall campaign affects 2004-2010 K1200GT, K1200R, K1200S, K1300GT, K1300R and K1300S models, though BMW has not provided an estimate of the number of units affected. BMW has not provided a remedy for the problem at this time.
BMW is also recalling the F650GS from model years 2007-2010 due to an issue with the front brake. A washer used on front brake disc fasteners may interfere with the fastener torque. As a result, a fastener may come loose over time, potentially allowing the brake disc to come loose.
The recall campaign affects 1,835 units. BMW has not provided a remedy at this time.
