ABS option available for BMW HP2 Megamoto
System can be turned off for racing
Available as a factory-installed option, the ABS system comes at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of US$1,000. As with the HP2 Sport, riders have the option of deactivating an installed ABS system for racing.
BMW pioneered the use of anti-lock brakes on motorcycles with the 1988 K100 (Mark II).
The HP2 Megamoto is a street version of the HP2 Enduro. It is equipped with a 113 hp Boxer motor producing 85 lb/ft of torque. It features inverted Marzocchi forks, Öhlins rear shock and an Akrapovic exhaust. The HP2 Megamoto uses a 12.6-inch dual hydraulic disc for the front brake and a 10.4-inch hydraulic disc for the rear from Bremo.
The 2008 HP2 Megamoto retails for $20,520.
