Husqvarna Reveals Vektorr Concept Electric Scooter
Production expected to begin in 2022
A mere 10 days after revealing its E-Pilen Concept, Husqvarna announced a second electric concept, this time an e-scooter it calls the Vektorr.
Designed for urban commuting duty, the Vektorr Concept claims a top speed of 45 kph (28 mph) and a range of up to 95 km (59 miles). Beyond that, Husqvarna provided very little technical detail. We do know, however, that the Vektorr was co-developed with Bajaj, which owns a stake in Pierer Mobility, Husqvarna’s a parent company.
Interestingly, there is no mention of a swappable battery, a feature found on the E-Pilen. Pierer Mobility, through its subsidiary, KTM, is part a consortium for developing a swappable battery pack standard with Piaggio, Yamaha, and Honda. Development of the Vektorr likely began long before Pierer Mobility decided to work with the consortium.
According to a Pierer Mobility report to investors, Husqvarna’s electric scooter will be a low voltage (48 V) vehicle with a 4 kW motor (5 hp), making it rideable with Europe’s A1 beginner license. Based on the claimed range, the Vektorr likely shares the same underpinnings as Bajaj’s Chetak electric scooter. The eventual production model is expected to be manufactured in India.
Where the Chetak has a very Vespa-esque look, the Vektorr’s styling follows Husqvarna’s design language with an emphasis on rounded edges and protruding shapes.
Pierer Mobility estimates the European market for motorcycles and scooters in the 50cc to 125cc performance range to become 50% electric within the next 10 years. The company has set a target of 2022 for its electric scooter to enter production.
With both the Vektorr and E-Pilen being designed for urban riders, Husqvarna is looking to expand its dealer presence in large metropolitan areas in Europe, with a focus on Spain, France, Italy and Germany.
The Vektorr wasn’t the only electric concept Husqvarna announced today. The sit-down Vektorr was joined by the Bltz stand-up electric scooter concept.
The Bltz Concept claims a range of 40 km (25 miles) with an output of 0.5 kW (0.7 hp), which Husqvarna claims will deliver a top speed of 20 kph (12.4 mph).

Being late to the party seems to be Husky's new plan. And 28 mph in the USA = roadkill. It's hard to think that these ppl are even trying. Polishing plastic....collecting paychecks.
Laaaame, another 50cc equivalent waste of manufacturing? Wake me up when these things can compete with 150cc and 300cc scooters in terms of speed and cargo capacity.
