I guess the VFR and ST1300 didn't have enough performance and panache? I thought those V4s were great engines. Maybe history will repeat itself with Honda and they will return to Interceptor glory like when it first came out.

Sadly, I have to agree. Honda is not the formidable motor company that it was in the 80's or 90's any more. Now it's KTM, Ducati are the ones coming up with exciting bikes.

"The Multistrada 1260 Enduro, designed to take on the toughest terrain and longest journeys". Yes, you are going to take your $22,000, 560 lb, 158 hp motorcycle on the toughest terrain (the pot holes on the way to the coffee shop).

The chain and sprockets already had 30,000 miles on them. Tires were TKC80 knobbies which are 80 dirt/20 street and don't last that long on long pavement rides. I replaced them with MotoZs which are 50/50 and smoother on pavement. Most damage was done by the washboard roads: mounting screw fell off headlight protector which nearly fell off, and wire broke off auxiliary LED light so had to replace it. Also got the valve check done at the same time. Stopped riding with that guided adventure riding group after that.
