Following the fire earlier this month that destroyed the entire fleet of Energica Ego Corsa spec race bikes, the FIM has released an updated calendar for the 2019 MotoE World Cup.

The March 14 fire – reportedly caused by a short circuit whose origins remain under investigation – took place around midnight following the first day of official tests at Jerez, consumed a temporary structure that housed the series’ equipment including its fleet of 18 Ego Corsa bikes.

The setback forced organizers to cancel the scheduled May 5 season opener at Jerez and the subsequent May 19 round at Le Mans. The revised schedule replaces the two lost races with a two-race finale at Valencia, Nov. 16-17, coinciding with the final round of the 2019 MotoGP season.

The July 7 round at Sachsenring will proceed as scheduled, now serving as the opening race of the World Cup. The Aug. 11 round at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, and the scheduled two-race Misano round on Sept. 14-15 will also remain on the calendar.

Because the Jerez test was interrupted after just one day, another test will be scheduled for some time in June at a circuit to be announced.

Updated 2019 MotoE World Cup Calendar

  • Sachsenring – July 7
  • Austria – August 11
  • Misano – September 14-15 (Two Race Event)
  • Valencia – Nov. 16-17 (Two Race Event)
