BMW released information on some models that will be returning with minor updates for 2019. For the most part, the changes consist of new color schemes and improved self-cancelling turn signals as standard on some models. Others, such as dynamic brake lights as standard on R nineT models, aren’t allowed in the U.S.

Also new are some premium colors for the R nineT models under BMW’s Option 719 ex-works custom program. Until now, Option 719 consisted of a line of milled parts produced by the BMW Motorrad Spezial customization department, and the new paint schemes complement these billet components. Unfortunately, no prices have been announced as yet.

Take a look at the new Option 719 colors below and let us know what you think.

2019 BMW R nineT

Let’s start with what we expect to be the most polarizing Option 719 look. The Mars red/Cosmic Blue color with a large, white “719” emblazoned across the fuel tank. Red, white and blue is a typical color combination for BMW, though typically with white as the dominant color. Here, it acts as the accent to the other two hues, while clearly showcasing the Option 719 brand. Combined, the color schemes seems less BMW Motorrad and more Margot Robbie from Suicide Squad.

Option 719 isn’t exactly a household name, so it seems odd for BMW to make it so prominent. The BMW roundel logo also sticks out awkwardly in the numbers. Overall, the color scheme is unusually in-your-face for BMW.

The Pollux version pictured below is a relatively sedate dark green contrasted against aluminum with a gold stripe trim. It’s a classic-looking color scheme that befits the R nineT’s modern-retro aesthetic.

2019 BMW R nineT Pure

The R nineT Pure also gets two Option 719 colors, the Black storm metallic/Aurum (pictured above) and Black storm metallic/Light white. Both get some black striping along the knee cutouts creating a bit of a fade effect. Both color schemes look pretty good, especially with the matching Option 719 billet parts.

The Option 719 branding on most of these color schemes is pretty subdued.

2019 BMW R nineT Racer

The Racer gets the same Black storm metallic/Aurum treatment offered on the R nineT Pure, but with the colors extending onto the fairing with “Racer” in gold.

2019 BMW R nineT Scrambler

The RnineT Scrambler also gets the option of Black storm metallic/Light white or Black storm metallic/Aurum. By September, the Scrambler will also get cross-spoke wheels as an ex-works option.
