Archive: 1982 Honda CB1100R

We caught the old girl with her clothes off at MotoGP Werks being serviced. Note the magnesium engine covers, mechanical anti-dive on the color-matched fork tubes. The front discs are radially vented like automobile and CBX ones, and the CB is allegedly the first Honda with two-piston calipers. When Australian race officials banned the ’82 for its fairing projecting beyond the front axle, Honda changed the fairing for ’83. (When they’d banned the ’81 for having no passenger seat, Honda added a removable seat hump on the ’82. What next, bitches?)
